Excellent trail/exercise shoes -I had some minor reservations when I bought these shoes - I usually like sneakers a bit darker in color, and more running-style - but I've ended up very pleasantly surprised and will definitely buy this brand again. The arch support, stability, and non-oppressive toe box were just what I was looking for. I use them for hiking and walking on a treadmill, and I haven't had any blisters or breaking-in period. The incredibly fast basic shipping from Zappos made the experience even better.

Heal problem - I loved these boots until the heals started coming off at the edges. I would not recommend buying them for that reason.

Hillbilly on the Appalachian Trail - These shoes are great on the off-road. They do tend to make your feet a little tired after a full day of hiking in the mountains (10hrs). The Vibram bottoms let your feet glid over rocks with great traction and the gortex waterproof is wonderful. I might buy them again.

Excellent hiking boots!When I tried these on, my feet felt so comfortable inside these boots. They are snug in a good way. They are cushioned inside and it feels very nice against your feet, making the boots feel like a part of your foot and not allowing movement inside. I actually went to a store to try them on before getting them on Zappos and the salesperson had me walk around in them for about 10 mins. to get a feel for them. I loved all 10 mins. and can't wait to go hiking with them now!

Nice shoe but read my caveat...There's a lot to like with this shoe: it looks great and can be worn as a casual shoe and as a hiker. Foot support is solid but I find arch support is just barely sufficient. For any kind of terrain, the more solid base of the shoe offers excellent support for the base of my feet. Here's the caveat: I find I pronate in these shoes, which was not apparent in the store nor in my break-in of the shoes. I have tested this by alternating several days in this shoe and several days in another and it is now to the point that when I wear these shoes for a few days, I get serious knee pain. First guess here is that the quest for a flatter, more stable shoe base has compromised the support the shoe offers. Next step: insoles... Hope they work because I do like this shoe.

Fantastic shoe overall - I ordered these shoes for my husband, who needed a solid, yet very comfortable, lightweight, work boot. He is very difficult to impress (!!) yet was VERY impressed with these boots. He not only likes the look of the shoe, but he reports them to be extremely comfortable, breathable, lightweight, yet very supportive of his foot & ankle.
